Designed to complement the performance and reliability of the IBM Magstar 3590 Tape Subsystem Available in 128- or 256-track format. The new H format ses 3590 extended length tape cartridge for up to 180GB of 3:1 compressed data per cartridge.
Can co-exist with 3490 cartridges. Choice of native media capacity ranging from 10/20 GB to 20/40 GB.
Self-contained tape path improves data reliability and extends tape life.
